At home, I am a single parent with four school-aged (now college) children. We’ve lived in Oneida for twenty five years.
We’ve been active and heavily involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for fifteen years, which has included being a Den Leader, Assistant Troop Leader, photographer/videographer, Merit Badge Counselor, STEM Award Counselor, assisted in setting up the Counsel’s STEM
Camporee and been to about a dozen summer camps.
We have also been active in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math activities forever. I Coach a year-round STEM club which meets year-round. In the fall and winter, we’ve been part of the FIRST Lego League (FLL) for about fifteen years, which meets from August to May.
As part of FLL, the team has taught a week-long, all day Robotics class at the Oneida Public Library and Rome’s GriffissInstitute and held occasional demonstrations for the library. We’ve also worked on the class curriculum for Robotics camp, which was also used in Rome and Herkimer.
I also do a fair bit of photography, and I have for a decade, where I take photos of sporting events, school plays, Robotics, Scouts and more recently City Government.
